Scrubs for the NHS

The COVID-19 pandemic has bought with it many challenges. One is an increased demand for scrubs, the plain clothes worn by healthcare workers when dealing with patients, in a bid to reduce the spread of infection.

For The Love Of Scrubs is a nationwide initiative. The group have been working hard to make scrubs to protect those who are working in hospitals, care homes and more. These were funded by kind donations from those who want to contribute to this lovely cause.

Hannah, daughter of  Lisa Hall, one of our Salts Medilink Nurses, and Katherine are two individuals who have expressed their efforts to the coronavirus pandemic. After recognising this movement, they formed their own group called Airedale Sewing Fairies to help make scrubs. These would be donated and delivered to Airedale General Hospital

The group originally set out to produce 12 sets of scrubs, with the aim to raise a total of £100. Thanks to all of the generous donations, an astounding 649 sets of scrubs were made and more coming with the remaining material. Hannah also made sets for individuals who contacted her privately. A total of £1,708 was raised for this amazing cause.

The Board of Directors at Salts Healthcare were moved by this caring initiative and donated a total of £500 to this charitable movement. Here at Salts Healthcare, we believe it is essential to come together and provide a real sense of community and compassion during these difficult times.

Congratulations to the group for all they have achieved!

We would like to say a big thank you to the voluntary group, as well as any others out there who are contributing their efforts to those in need, for all of their hard work, commitment and dedication to noble causes.
