We currently collect and process the following information when you apply for a job at Salts Healthcare Limited:

  • Evidence of how you meet the requirements of the job, including CVs and references

  • Information about your health – where applying for a Stoma Care Nurse position, we will require information regarding your immunisation status

How we get your personal information and why we collect it

Most of the personal information we process is provided to us directly by you for one of the following reasons:

  • Process your application

  • Evidence your right to work in the UK

  • Process an Application with the Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) where required

  • Allow us to contact you regarding the status of your application and updates on how it moves forward
     

We also receive personal information indirectly, from the following sources in the following scenarios:

  • Recruitment Agency if you apply for a job with us through a Recruitment Agency

  • Former employers and people named by you as references to provide references to support your application

  • The Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) to provide results of your DBS check
     

We may share this information with:

  • Recruitment Agency if you apply for a job with us through a Recruitment Agency

  • The Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) to allow them to process your DBS check (where required)

  • If you are successfully recruited, we will upload your details to our HR system. As a member of staff, you will sign a contract of employment and agree to additional terms on how your data is handled and stored.

Under the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), the lawful bases we rely on for processing this information are:

(a) We have a contractual obligation.
Processing your data is necessary to move your application forward before signing a contract of work. This concerns employment or pre-employment checks.

(b) We have a legal obligation. 
The law requires Salts Healthcare Limited to check that candidates are entitled to work in the UK.
 

Processing special category data

In addition, where we need to process any special categories of data such as health information and criminal convictions (Stoma Care Nurse roles only) the lawful bases we rely on are as follows:

(a) Preventative or Occupational Medicine
We will need to process your immunisation status to enable us to ascertain whether you require any further immunisation prior to us being able to offer a role to you

How we store your personal information

We have put in place measures to protect the security of your information.

Third parties will only process your personal information on our instructions and where they have agreed to treat the information confidentially and to keep it secure.

We have put in place appropriate security measures to prevent your personal information from being accidentally lost, used or accessed in an unauthorised way, altered or disclosed. In addition, we only give access to your personal information to those employees, agents, contractors and other third parties who need to work on your recruitment process.

We have put in place procedures to deal with any suspected data security breach and will notify you and any applicable regulator of a suspected breach where we are legally required to do so.

 

Your data protection rights

Under data protection law, you have rights including:

  • Your right of access - You have the right to ask us for copies of your personal information.

  • Your right to rectification - You have the right to ask us to rectify personal information you think is inaccurate. You also have the right to ask us to complete information you think is incomplete.

  • Your right to erasure - You have the right to ask us to erase your personal information in certain circumstances.

  • Your right to restriction of processing - You have the right to ask us to restrict the processing of your personal information in certain circumstances.

  • Your right to object to processing - You have the the right to object to the processing of your personal information in certain circumstances.

  • Your right to data portability - You have the right to ask that we transfer the personal information you gave us to another organisation, or to you, in certain circumstances.

  • You are not required to pay any charge for exercising your rights. If you make a request, we have one month to respond to you.
